Sun badminton slated

TOP BADMINTON players from the Mindanao region converge as the Mindanao leg of the Sun Cellular Badminton tournament unfolds from Aug. 21 to 23 at Smash N’ Drop Badminton Center in San Pedro Extension, Davao City.

Sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association, organizing Forthright Events announced deadline for registration is tomorrow at suncellularjuniors.com.

Division winners of the event will qualify for the National Finals on Sept. 26 and 27 at J Centre Mandaue in Cebu.

Smart Sports’ Christopher Quimpo said this is part of the MVP Sports Foundation’s efforts to find talents who could represent the country in future international meets.

The event is also part of the Philippine National Ranking System that is being used to gauge the players’ strength.
Meanwhile, the Philippines is set to join the Asian Junior Sports Exchange 2015 slated Aug. 25 to 31 in Tokyo Japan.
