Kaya, Jeepney advance
TOP SEED Kaya and Manila Jeepney came away with contrasting victories Thursday night to reach the quarterfinals of the United Football League Cup at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
With Tishan Hanley and OJ Porteria combining for seven goals, Kaya whipped Nomads, 10-1, for a place in the last eight against the winner of the JP Voltes-Pasargad tiff.
Jeepney dumped second division side Forza, 2-0, in an ill-tempered duel that saw both teams combine for 11 yellow cards. Jeepney will play the winner of the Loyola Meralco-Mendiola duel slated tonight.
