THE WORLD’S most dominant basketball player returns to Manila Wednesday night.
NBA superstar LeBron James is set to arrive in a private jet and head straight to a hotel in Makati, before plunging into a whirlwind of promotional activities and private functions starting tomorrow until Saturday.
An exhibition game Thursday night at Mall of Asia Arena will be among the highlights of his three-day visit, where he will also serve as mentor to aspiring players of the Nike Rise basketball program.
Last Aug. 14, Nike offered free tickets to the event in a one-day online listing, which were snapped up by fans in less than 15 minutes.
Many of James’ activities in Manila, though, remain under wraps.
James, a four-time NBA MVP, first visited the country in July 2013 for a one-day blockbuster “Witness History” tour, also at MOA Arena.
But fans then had to queue up at Nike Park in Bonifacio Global City to get free tickets to the event, with some even camping outside the store days before the event.
James towed the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals before bowing to reigning MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
