Albert Lim, Daniel Villaseñor lead march of ATF faves
MANILA, Philippines—Top seed Albert Lim Jr. and No. 2 Daniel Villaseñor led the charge of the favorites Tuesday in the Mariposa Foundation Cup Presented by the Philippine Tennis Academy ATF 14-Under Series at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
Lim, a freshman at Letran, overwhelmed Tomas Puno, 6-0, 6-1, while Villaseñor trounced John Cerezo, 6-0, 6-1, to advance to the next round.
Third seed Park Ji-hun of South Korea defeated qualifier Marvin Carlos Palomino of Spain, 6-1, 6-1, while No. 4 Eric Olivarez Jr. booted out Japanese Mikio Shimomura, 6-1, 6-0.
In other matches, No. 16 Fernando Jose Arguelles blanked Aidyll Ignacio, 6-0, 6-0, Chung Yun-seong of Korea whipped Miguel dela Paz, 6-0, 6-2, Jeleardo Amazona bested Thai Itchya Meesommon, 6-2, 6-3, Marc Agner routed Marraphael Teng, 6-1, 6-0, Angelo Gonzales whitewashed Enrico Ong, 6-0, 6-0, Dave Mosqueda downed Joel Atienza, 6-3, 6-2, Christian Lopez beat Chris Prulla, 6-1, 6-3, and Allian Quoahar won by default over Manuel Balce III.
