PH Cobra-PDBF team eyes 3 golds in IDBF World C’ships
Continuing its brilliant display in the waters, the Cobra-PAL Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Team is set to partake in the 12th International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) World Championships this Aug. 19-23 in Ontario, Canada with a lofty goal in sight.
A trifecta of gold medals are what they’re after.
Paddlers from the Philippine Marines, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Coast Guard will compete in the mixed and men’s division for 200m, 500m, and 2,000m categories.
“We are looking at China, Thailand, USA, Taipei, and of course, Canada as our biggest rivals for the record. But with our paddlers’ passion and desire to show the Tunay na Lakas of the Filipinos, they won’t stop until we get the gold,” PDBF President Marcia Cristobal said in a statement.
The Philippines placed second in the World Cup in China with two golds, one silver, and one bronze.
