Philippine Air Force tossers cruise to 2nd straight win

MANILA, Philippines—Philippine Air Force crushed Perpetual Help, 25-21, 25-21, 25-13, to post its second straight win in the 2011 National Volleyball Open Championship at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Tuesday.

A day after scoring their first win against Angeles U Foundation, the defending champions, headed by Dante Alinsunurin and Rhovyl Verayo, pounced on Perpetual’s game-long erratic net defense.

The PAF women’s team also took its first win after beating Adamson, 25-17, 25-23, 25-23, in the tournament backed by Mikasa, Philippine Olympic Committee, Sonak Trading, Summit Water, City Garden, Philippine Sports Commission, Pagcor, Shakey’s, Nestea, Sen. Francis Pangilinan and Waste Management Inc.

In other men’s matches, Far Eastern U and National U likewise notched their first victories.

FEU trashed Voyagers, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, and NU dealt AUF a second straight defeat, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 25-20.
