Ceres, Kaya gain semis

CERES La Salle flaunted its superior offense to hammer out a 5-0 victory over Green Archers United Friday night and nail a place in the semifinals of the United Football League Cup at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Patrick Reichelt struck twice, while Lee Jeong Woo, Manny Ott and Bien Maranon also found the back of the net for the reigning league champions who will face either Manila Jeepney or Loyola Meralco Sparks in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Powerhouse Kaya also claimed a place in the semifinals after rolling past JP Voltes, 9-0, in the early kickoff.

Striker Tishan Hanley sustained his fiery form with another hat trick as Kaya bundled out the newly promoted side.

Chris Greatwich was also among Kaya’s scorers, but the task gets tougher for coach Fabien Lewis’ side which faces the winner of the Pachanga Diliman-Stallion showdown in the semifinals.

Archers failed to put away a couple of good chances before Ceres finally struck through  Korean striker Lee who poked home from close range after he was released by Ott on the left in the 36th minute.

Reichelt doubled the lead three minutes later with a volley from close range while Ott made it 3-nil nine minutes after the restart.
