Jushin Thunder Liger victorious in WWE debut

Japanese legend Jushin Thunder Liger was victorious in his first-ever match under World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), turning back Tyler Breeze in NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn Sunday (Manila time).
A raucous crowd at the Barclays Center welcomed Liger as he opened the show, as the famed junior heavyweight put on a show with the rookie Breeze for almost nine minutes.
In the end, Breeze took a palm strike to the face from Liger, who followed up with a Liger Bomb to score the pinfall win.
It was the first time Liger appeared on WWE, with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) allowing its 50-year-old star to be a guest performer in the NXT showcase, which featured WWE’s upcoming stars.
Liger had performed for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the 1990s, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2005, Ring of Honor in the 2000s, and various independent North American promotions.
Throughout his historic career, Liger also fought in Europe for All-Star Wrestling, Canada for Stampede Wrestling, and Mexico for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
