In his first Rookie Draft as PBA commissioner, Chito Narvasa is requesting teams to shy away from executing draft day trades and give him more time to assess the transactions and make it as fair as possible.
Deputy commissioner Rickie Santos bared that it was Narvasa’s plea to teams as he hopes to buy more time to counter-check the deals done in the 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft.
“Since it’s his first day on the job, he just wants to look at the trades done before he approves it. He doesn’t want any unfair deals being executed at the height of the excitement of the draft,” said Santos.
Wheels have been rolling in the buildup for the draft, with the hottest commodity being Mahindra’s number two pick.
Barako Bull, Alaska, and Rain or Shine are also seen as possible dealers, with the three teams owning numerous second rounders.
