NU makes quick work of St. Benilde for share of 2nd spot in V-League
National University climbed to the second spot of the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference after a quick drubbing of the listless College of St. Benilde, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18, in the quarterfinals Sunday at San Juan Arena.
CSB’s offense never found its rhythm, with only 23 of its total 58 points their own doing.
With a faulty offense plaguing them throughout the whole match, the Lady Blazers’ final attack went long to award the Lady Bulldogs the 4-1 win-loss record to tie University of Santo Tomas for second seed.
Lady Bulldogs head coach Roger Gorayeb said he was mindful of his team’s errors, some of which should never have happened.
“Our game was fine, pretty at best,” Gorayeb said. “There were instances, though, where the players couldn’t decide on who’ll get the ball.”
“There were errors, elementary errors, that these girls should never commit.”
Dindin Santiago-Manabat led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points while her sister Jaja Santiago and Myla Pablo added 11 apiece.
Ranya Musa led the Lady Blazers with seven points.
