Senators Sonny Angara and Pia Cayetano, both avid sports supporters, called on fans to support the Philippine national football team as it gears up for its September 8 match against Uzbekistan.
After a strong start to its 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers campaign, the Azkals are set to face a strong Uzbeks side which is ranked 75th in the world—the highest placed team in group H—at Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan.
“Let’s support our Azkals in the World Cup qualifiers, esp in their hometown matches!” Cayetano said in a tweet.
Angara, meanwhile, tweeted: “#azkals gearing up for #WorldCupQualifiers on #sept8 at the #philstadium.”
Azkals manager Dan Palami expressed his gratitude over support of personalities to the PH football team, which is eyeing a third victory in the qualifying after wins over Bahrain 2-1, and Yemen, 2-0.
Tickets for the Azkals game against Uzbekistan are pegged at P531.80 for Price Zone 1, P331.14 for Price Zone 2 and P125.40 for Price Zone 3.
