Metro Kidapawan’s Jiselle Joy Tomaroi ruled two events in the girls’ under-19 division in the Mindanao leg of the Sun Cellular Badminton tournament at Smash N’ Drop Badminton Center in Davao City over the weekend.
Tomaroi bested Butuan City’s Erika Jane Pedroza Acalayen, 21-14, 21-7, to snare the singles’ title and then teamed up with Marinel Diansay in routing Metro Kidapawan teammates Michelle Kate Alvarez and Reajoy Saquian, 21-9, 21-6, to cop the ladies’ doubles crown.
Tomaroi, Acalayen and other division winners of this leg, sponsored by Sun Cellular, Smart, MVP Sports Foundation, PBA, Smash Pilipinas, Victor exclusively distributed by Pcome Industrial Sales, Inc., Bayfront Hotel Cebu, JC Centre Mandaue, will march to the National Finals set Sept. 26 and 27 at the J Centre Mandaue.
Jerrickson Tapales of Team Prima-La Salle turned back Kristian Paolo Barrios of Space Shuttle Kidapawan, 21-16, 21-15, to reign supreme in the boys’ U-19 side.
