Spikers’ Turf: FEU posts 1st quarterfinals win at UP’s expense

Far Eastern University prevailed over a pesky University of the Philippines side, 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 25-23, to notch its first win in the quarterfinals of the Spikers’ Turf Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

The Tamaraws’ quartet of Jude Garcia, Gregorio Dolor, Peter Quiel and Rikko Marmot  had their horns sharpened against the Fighting Maroons.

Garcia led the charge with 15 points while Dolor, the team captain, added 13. Quiel and Marmeto each had 11 points for FEU, which improved to 1-5. 

Alfred Valbuena paced the Fighting Maroons, who are also 1-5, with 19 points while Wendel Miguel had 18.
