Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson not only dropped by Gilas Pilipinas’ practice Wednesday night, he joined the players during some drills too.
The Fil-American Clarkson, whom the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is looking to field in and join the national team in the 2015 Fiba Asia Championship in China, got everyone excited when he suited up in his own Gilas practice jersey sporting the No.6, the same number he wears with the Lakers.
If ever Clarkson submits all the necessary requirements and eventually gets the green light from Fiba, the 23-year-old will be a welcome addition to the team, which is missing some of the country’s top stars.
Aside from Clarkson, forward Marc Pingris also made his first appearance for Gilas since reconsidering his decision and make himself available for the national team.
Clarkson is expected to have a breakout season in his second year in the NBA this October after being named into the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
