The Golden State Warriors Dance Team brought some of its members over here in Manila as part of the 2015 NBA 3X Philippines.
Patrisha Yabes, Clarice Guido, Tarah Dawn Naismith, Amira Kathleen Mourad and Jekailah Jami Fort gamely answered questions from the media in a roundtable-type interview session at Marriott Hotel in Pasay.
The spotlight shone on Yabes and Guido, who are born to Filipino parents but grew up in the US.
“It’s an amazing feeling coming back and having my community and family support the Warriors,” said a beaming Guido. “And it’s exciting to be able to dance in front of my family.”
“We’re just looking forward to hanging out and enjoying the weather,” said Yabes.
Guido lived and studied in the Philippines for two years before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism at the University of Oregon.
Yabes has been part of the Dance Team for five seasons and she’s one of the captains in the squad. She is currently in college majoring in Public Relations.
