St. Benilde snapped its four-game losing skid and handed Emilio Aguinaldo College an 81-57 beatdown in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball tournament Friday at San Juan Arena.

Jonathan Grey had a near triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists to help the Blazers part ways with the Generals.

JJ Domingo led St. Benilde with 16 markers, while JR Ongteco also got 12 points.

“It’s quite sometime after our last won game, but today, I’m very happy that were able to do the things that we planned,” said coach Gabby Velasco, whose wards improved to 3-9.

St. Benilde limited EAC to the season’s lowest output at the half with only 18 points and even took a lead as much as 34, 65-31 in the fourth.

It really was a collective effort on the side of the Blazers, who also had 24 assists to pay way for a 48-percent clip from the field.

“I just hope that we can play this type of games against the top teams. We’re here to improve and steal wins,” Velasco said.

Francis Munsayac led EAC (2-10) with 15 points, as Christ Mejos got 11 as the Generals fell to their fifth straight loss.
