Perlas Pilipinas earned a promotion to Level I after outlasting India, 82-76, in the 2015 Fiba Asia Women’s Championship Level II Friday in Wuhan, China.

Afril Bernardino scorched the Indians with 32 points on an efficient 14-of-18 shooting from the field. She also had five rebounds, five assists, and five steals to cap off the squad’s historic run in the tournament.

Allana Lim also had a near double-double with 20 markers and nine boards, while Merenciana Arayi got 12 points and six rebounds.

Perlas led by as much as 12 in the third before a late fightback from India closed the gap and gave the national women’s team a scare late. Bernardino and Lim claimed the win for Perlas in the clutch.

The win gave Perlas a slot in Level I of the 2017 Fiba Asia Championship for Women, where it will go up against China, Japan, Korea Republic, Chinese Taipei, and North Korea.
