Steph Curry only spent a day in his first visit in Manila but he gave Filipino basketball fans the time of their lives.
The NBA superstar not only said his Manila trip was going to be memorable but the expressions on his face and body language the moment he arrived from Tokyo without hardly any rest told how genuine his words were.
“What’s up Manila?!” Curry roared after he was introduced before a packed crowd at Mall of Asia Arena during his fan event.
After his grand introduction, the 27-year-old Curry immediately went to work and conducted basketball drills from dribbling to shooting with selected high school players.
The NBA champion Curry also played a fun one-on-one game with a 7-year-old fan, who impressed the reigning MVP with his dribbling skills, and participated in a Three-point Shoutout before putting on a show in a 15-minute scrimmage with the lucky high school ballers.
“Work hard. There are days where I wake up and sometimes I feel tired. But I challenge myself everyday. Find something different. Work hard and nothing can stop you,” Curry said in a message to aspiring Filipino basketball players.
From his ball handling wizardry to his shooting prowess, Filipinos were shown why Curry is one of the best in what he does.
“I’ve been saying this all day. Thank you so much for the love. I wanna come back every year to celebrate basketball with you,” said the two-time Olympic gold medalist.
The Golden State Warriors guard will wrap up his Asian tour dubbed as “The UA Roadshow featuring Stephen Curry” with a three-day, three-city event in China starting on Sunday.
