LA UNION—Soccer for Youth Appreciation and Multi Sport Activities (SYAMA), a community grassroots football program in San Juan here was launched yesterday by SIFCare, a humanitarian NGO.

Public elementary schools have been invited to join the group’s 5-a-side tournament for boys and girls under 12.

“The program aims to give poor but talented kids exposure to the game and provide an opportunity to excel,” said coach Anton Gomez.

The event kicked off with an exhibition game with Batang Pinoy 2015 Champion, Baguio’s futsal U-14 girls team against San Juan Seleciao.
