Ateneo and National University have set the course of a possible championship showdown in the Spikers’ Turf Season 1-Collegiate Conference.

They simply have to finish off their semifinal opponents Wednesday to get there.

The Blue Eagles go for a sweep in their best-of-three series with National College of Business and Arts after snaring the opener of their semifinal tiff while the Bulldogs, who figured in a hard-fought five-setter against Emilio Aguinaldo College, are raring to accomplish the same feat.

Starring Marck Espejo, Rex Intal, Joshua Valenzuela and Ysrael Marasigan, the Eagles put together 48 hits in just three sets against the weary Wildcats.

NCBA has recharged its batteries and will again lean on guest players Reyson Fuentes and Edwin Tolentino, who managed a combined measly output of 12 hits.

The Generals hope to be a team that relies on more players than just Howard Mojica, who erupted for 35 points.
Francis Saura and Madzlan Gampong came through with half of the Bulldogs’ 11-block harvest that keyed a 25-23, 26-28, 25-18, 26-28, 15-11 win for NU.
