If Floyd Mayweather Jr. would leave boxing on September 12, he would leave “The Sweet Science” (sport of boxing) with little fanfare.
According to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com, there are still 2,100 tickets still available for Mayweather’s final performance against Andre Berto as per Ticketmaster.
The 2,100 tickets, which the promoters hold are still unaccounted for, are available to fans who want to watch the fight live at the 16,800-capacity MGM Grand Garden Arena.
According to the website of ESPN, the tickets for the Mayweather-Berto fight are worth $125 to $1,500, far lower than the ticket prices for the Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight in May.
Boxing’s Fight of the Century had the cheapest tickets priced at $1,500 and the 500 tickets available for the public were sold out in a matter of minutes.
Not only are the tickets cheaper for the Berto fight than the Pacquiao fight, hotel booking prices also remained stagnant.
MGM Grand offered a two-night deal worth $1,000 and included two Mayweather-Berto tickets.
