With a stacked race for the NCAA season 91 Final Four, Jose Rizal University head coach Vergel Meneses admits that pressure is now on the Heavy Bombers’ side.

JRU sits at sixth seed with a 7-6 record behind Mapua, University of Perpetual Help, Arellano University, San Beda College, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

“We can’t relax, we have to take this one game at a time,” Meneses said Friday at San Juan Arena after bombarding Emilio Aguinaldo College.

“The results of the other games are not helping us, like when Perpetual had an upset win over San Beda. But I know we still have a chance.”

JRU made it to the final four in Season 90 but lost to eventual runners-up Chiefs.

For Season 91, Meneses knows they are once again on their own to finish strong.

“I just told them to not rely on the other teams’ results, we have to take this, we might even get a streak going.”
