Error-prone Tigresses miss out on chance to make history

University of Santo Tomas was on its way to make history, knock Ateneo out of the Shakey’s V-League.
With their semifinal series tied at 1-1, all the Tigresses had to do was take Game 3 from the Lady Eagles.
That, however, did not materialize as the Lady Eagles swept the hapless Tigresses in the deciding match.
Almost half-an-hour after the game, the Tigresses were left to contemplate on themselves what went wrong.
Moments after the players-only meeting, veteran Carmela Tunay said their mistakes were all over the floor and they could never mask it as a team.
“Our mistakes just reeked out there,” Tunay said, dejected. “We can’t deny that.”
“We got out of focus and we swelled too much on individual mistakes and we couldn’t cover it up as a team”
UST simply couldn’t summon the same effort when it stunned Ateneo in game two for the Lady Eagles’ first loss in the conference.
Still, Tunay found some positives on the debilitating loss.
“Experience is a great teacher, the coaches haven’t fielded a standard starting six there and they are still finding out who to field for the following games,” Tunay said. “We can still learn from each other and we still have time to know each other more.”
