The club didn’t have room for someone as famous as Manny Pacquiao. And it didn’t make a fuss on the visit of someone named Adam Levine either.
Levine together with two bandmates of the Maroon 5 fame made a surprise visit to the country’s most exclusive club Wednesday, the Manila Golf Club, inside Forbes Park for a quick round of golf that was cut short by a thunderstorm.
It proved to be a good decision for the celebrities as they were able to relax and enjoy themselves without the usual fanfare their presence normally attracts.
Not too many of the members there seemed to have been excited about their presence.
“There was hardly any fuss or commotion when they proceeded to the lobby to board their cars as most of the members who were there at that time were past 60 already,” noted a club member.
Club insiders said that Levine and his flightmates were already on the 17th hole when the second siren sounded, requiring everyone out on the course to stop play.
That was when they decided to end their game that was already marred by a first stoppage earlier also because of a thunderstorm.
Those who were able to recognize the pop superstar didn’t have a chance at a selfie—there were strict orders from the Maroon 5 camp disallowing such.
Maroon 5 is reportedly here for a one-night-only concert tomorrow.
Pacquiao was said to have eyed a membership at Manila Golf, the current price per share at which is at least P40 million, several years ago. But he was reportedly told not to pursue it since there was a very high chance of rejection.
