Earl Scottie Thompson continued his masterful performance in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball tournament, notching his sixth triple-double to help Perpetual to a 70-47 dismantling of St. Benilde Friday at San Juan Arena.

The reigning league MVP tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the wire-to-wire victory, keeping the Altas at the fourth spot with their 10-4 card.

Bright Akhuetie also had 11 markers and six boards, while fellow Nigerian Prince Eze got 10 points and eight rebounds.

“Mahirap matalo dun sa ilalim kasi mahihila ka talaga pababa,” said coach Aric del Rosario.

(It’s hard to lose to lose against teams below the standings because they can really bring you down.)

Jonathan Grey led St. Benilde (3-12) with 14 points, while rookie JJ Domingo got 12 in the defeat.
