PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa on Saturday banned reporter Snow Badua from all league-related activities effective immediately for his Twitter tirade against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel team governor Alfrancis Chua.

Narvasa said Badua’s claims on social media were “baseless attacks” and have “no factual basis.”

“It has come to my attention that you had used different media platforms to malign, embarrass and mortify a person of authority of this association. Your incessant attacks on Twitter on Mr. Alfrancis Chua, team governor of Ginebra San Miguel, has caused distress, embarrassment and disharmony with his family,” Narvasa said in his letter that was hand delivered to Badua on Friday night.

Badua wrote a story that appeared on sports website Spin.ph that model Abby Poblador supposedly confessed in a popular podcast to having an affair with a PBA executive.

The veteran reporter would later on post some tweets directed at Chua.

“And upon my investigation, said stories have no factual basis. It is only a concoction of an evil and malicious mind. And if you believe that you can evade responsibility by posting said unfounded stories in a social network, you are mistaken,” the letter read.

Narvasa warned that the league will also hand penalties to PBA players, coaches and team members who will grant Badua an interview.

“For your disrespectful arrogance and unceasing attacks on a person of authority of the PBA, I am officially informing you that I am banning you from any and all PBA activities, games, practices and similar undertakings effective immediately,” Narvasa wrote.

“This ban shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect until further clearance from this office.”

Badua posted his reaction to the news on his Twitter account.

“To those expressing support. Thank you. I won’t stop serving the fans. I will never be hindered. To my haters, this will also be your loss,” the reporter posted on his Twitter account.
