Pessumal finds touch with 6 triples in Ateneo win over UE

Von Pessumal hasn’t been himself for the first three games and yet Ateneo managed to go 2-1 during that stretch with its star guard Kiefer Ravena carrying much of the offensive load.

But it all changed on Saturday when Pessumal finally found his shooting touch to help the Blue Eagles beat the University of the East Red Warriors.

Pessumal drained back-to-back triples in the second quarter and everything went from hot to hotter for the fifth-year shooter.

“I got my confidence from my coaches and teammates, coach Bo [Perasol] and Kiefer just told me to keep shooting,” Pessumal said after finishing the game with 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting from deep.

“Good thing it started dropping.”

Unfazed by his early struggles, Pessumal knew things were about to happen for him when he made his first two triples. 

“I knew I was in a good rhythm, I had a good stroke today.”
