Antonio Lascuña seeks redemption at Sherwood Hills

Antonio Lascuña headlines the ICTSI Tournament Players’ Championship that tees off at Sherwood Hills Wednesday, vowing to go all out for a win and atone for yielding a chance to win a fourth straight Order of Merit title.

The 44-year-old Lascuña wants to rediscover his putting touch, which abandoned him in the last two tournaments.

“I just couldn’t seem to putt right in the last two tournaments,” Lascuña said in Filipino.

At Wack Wack East two weeks ago, Lascuña blew a four-shot lead entering the final round. to lose to Miguel Tabuena. Last Saturday, he finished out of the Top 10 of the Central Azucarera de Tarlac Open at Luisita, also won by Tabuena.

Tabuena’s torrid show sewed up his first OOM title, ending Lascuña’s three-year reign.

Tabuena, though, will be absent this week like Angelo Que with both having previous commitments to play abroad.

Jonel Ababa, Jay Bayron, Cassius Casas and Elmer Salvador are the other notables vying for the P650,000 top purse.
