Alfred Aroga has been the undisputed anchor of National University, powering the defending UAAP champions to two straight wins after starting the season 78 at 0-3.
In the past two games, the 6-foot-8 big man from Cameroon nailed a game-winner over compatriot Karim Abdul of University of Santo Tomas and asserted himself against the winless Adamson University.
Aroga, however, still carries the stigma the three straight opening losses gave.
“I still haven’t found my identity,” Aroga said Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. “I haven’t found it yet.”
NU’s title defense was off to a poor start and head coach Eric Altamirano admitted said they are lacking the identity that had made them champions.
But Aroga said their bad start is something they have put behind them if they want to move on.
“We started out bad…we need to think fast.”
