Pikit stages Palawan Express tilt

For a change, Pikit, North Cotabato, will serve as a sporting hub.

The strife-torn town will stage the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala regional age-group tennis tournament starting today at Pikit Tennis Club.

Mayor Muhyryn Sultan-Cusi said they have a banner field in the meet including a 64-player draw in boys 14-under and 32-player draws in the rest of the age groups.

“We have invited all the young players here in Mindanao to compete and sought the help of all our LGUs participating to help ensure the orderly and successful conduct of the event,” said Sultan-Cusi.
Mindanao has produced the best tennis talents these days including Francis Casey Alcantara who hails from Cagayan de Oro, and Jeson Patrombon, who is from Iligan City.

Eric Comendador and Kurt Haro will banner the boys’ 14-under lineup.
