Far Eastern University dominated its way to the first podium finish in the 2015 Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference with a 25-16, 25-23, 25-17 trampling of University of Santo Tomas Saturday in Game 2 of the battle-for-third series at San Juan Arena.
It was an offensive onslaught courtesy of the Lady Tamaraws as they unloaded 40 points via spikes while holding down the Tigresses to 29.
Guest player Jovelyn Gonzaga led the way for the Lady Tamaraws, who won its second bronze medal, with 15 points, 14 of which came off spikes.
Fellow guest player Mary Rose Tubino and Bernadeth Pons each added 12 points for FEU.
Team captain Pam Lastimosa and reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year EJ Laure led UST with 10 points apiece.
