Chiang Kai Shek cagers rule FCAAF tourney

Chiang Kai Shek College completed a twin kill in the 26th Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) basketball championships after adding the Developmental division (boys’ 11-under) title over the weekend at CKSC gym in Manila.

While it scored an easy 75-57 win over Hope Christian High School in the premier Division I finals the other week, CKSC needed an extra five minutes to beat St. Stephen’s High School, 57-54, in the Molten-backed event.

The Little Blue Dragons fell behind by five points going into the last two minutes, but Miguel Dosayla scored two charities before Calvin Villanueva sent the game into overtime with a trey.

The Little Blue Dragons then leaned on their air-tight defense to deny SSHS’s top gunners clear baskets while Johnlen Charles Ang, Dosayla and Villanuena were relentless in their assault to extend their reign to four years.

“It was a difficult win. So hard. Good thing Villanueva and Dosayla came through with huge baskets,” said CKSC coach Joel Yap, who called the shots in lieu of Calvin Li.
St. Jude Catholic School settled for third while Grace Christian College placed fourth.
