College of St. Benilde finally found its stride at the tailend as it dispensed Lyceum, 59-56, Thursday at San Juan Arena for its first win streak in the Men’s Basketball Tournament of NCAA Season 91.

With a slim 59-54 lead with 31.2 second left in the game, the Blazers got a massive sigh of relief when Pirate Shaq Alanes converted two of four free throws after JJ Domingo’s technical foul.

St. Benilde then clamped down to maintain its a three-point lead en route to its first win streak in the season.

Gerard Castor took advantage of his minutes as he started in place of point guard Travis Johnson, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds for the 5-12 Blazers.

Joseph Gabayni had a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double for the 4-14 Pirates.
