Ravena leads UAAP MVP race; Ferrer, Daquioag close behind

It looks like Kiefer Ravena might get his second UAAP MVP, if the race ended on Wednesday.

Ravena is leading the MVP race at the end of the first round of eliminations with 70.6 statistical points after seven games.

Ravena averaged 18.3 points– second in the league–7.1 rebounds, a league-leading 5.0 assists, and 1.7 steals in leading the Blue Eagles to a 4-3 card in the first round.

A pair of Thomasians were not far behind with Kevin Ferrer finishing with 68.29 statistical points and Ed Daquioag garnerning 65 points with the Tigers leading the pack at 6-1.

Ferrer averaged  17.9 markers, 8.1 boards, and 1.7 assists while Daquioag normed 19.4 points–a league best–4.7 rebounds, and 2.4 dimes in seven games in the first round.

National University center Alfred Aroga was at fourth with 61.1 statistical points while La Salle forward Jeron Teng was at fifth with 60.1 statistical points.

Rounding out the top 10 are the Far Eastern U combo of Mac Belo (57.9 SPs) and Mike Tolomia (55.9 SPs), UST big man Karim Abdul (53 SPs), hardworking Tamaraw Raymar Jose (52 SPs), and University of the East’s Edson Batiller (51.4 SPs).
