British boxer Amir Khan has backed out of a potential fight with Filipino champion Manny Pacquiao, a report said.

As per the report by The National, the fighters’ teams met in Doha, Qatar to discuss a potential fight after Pacquiao got a go-signal to fight after a surgery on his right shoulder.

But Khan, who thought a deal had been struck, decided to pull out of the negotiations saying the Pacquiao camp isn’t playing fair.

“I’m really disappointed at Manny and his team,” Khan said in the report. “They aren’t playing ball. All that was left to do was sign the contract. But they are stalling.”

It’s another drawback for Khan who has long been hoping for a megabuck fight either against Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweathet Jr.

But this time, Khan said he’s “not waiting for Manny” like he did for Mayweather.”

He believes Pacquiao’s team doesn’t want a fight against him for competitive reasons.

“They know I’m a tricky fighter and they know I will beat him,” Khan said of his former training partner. “I don’t really if Mayweather is fighting Pacquiao again, it is a possible reason for him to stall on signing the contract, but I don’t really know.”

He added he’s got other options like a potential fight with WBO Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley, rematch against Dany Garcia or against Lamont Peterson.

“I am willing to fight anyone but it seems not everyone is willing to fight me.”
