Petron and Foton gun for win No. 2, while RC Cola debuts Wednesday in the 2015 Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan.
But ironically, it’s winless Meralco which generates the buzz as it goes for a win despite a brewing turmoil from inside the Power Spikers.
After two stinging defeats, Meralco coach Ramil de Jesus said he barely used import Christina Alessi because of sprained ankle. He also chose to go all-Filipino in most of the second set on Tuesday’s losing game to Petron.
But in a Facebook comment immediately after the game, the other import Liis Kullerkann, the Estonian-born outside hitter from Ohio, said: “Apparently you have an ankle sprain Christina Alessi, now you know too, lol…”
Alessi was used for only a few minutes in the first set and made one point, while Kullerkann sat out most of the second set stirring Twitterverse to question De Jesus’ judgment.
Now the Power Spikers can’t afford to get the team drama on their way when they go up against the Raiders who will unveil the highly rated Lynda Morales, a Puerto Rican national team member and veteran of club leagues in Brazil and Turkey.
Petron will try to follow up on its win last Tuesday, but it will have to face a solid Foton side which ripped Meralco in the opener (25-23, 25-22, 25-16).
