The Philippines has become a home away from home for Philippine Super Liga import Erica Adachi.
Adachi, who plays for Petron Blaze Spikers in the 2015 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, admits that she has fallen in love with the country.
“I feel like I’m home. That’s why I said I was from Batangas [during the press con] because I feel I’m a Filipino. That’s why I came back because I feel at home here,” she said in a video taken the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Marc Anthony Reyes.
The 5-foot-8 Brazilian beauty hopes to see more of the Philippines in her second visit to the country.
“I’ve been to Boracay and El Nido in Palawan. This year, I hope to see more place like Cebu and Iloilo,” said Adachi.
Adachi also said that she loves Filipino food like beef tapa and the desserts like puto bumbong and cassava cake.
But more than anything, what enchanted Adachi to embrace this country is the famed Filipino hospitality.
“Everything here, the people, the fans, my friends from the team and outside of the team, they have been very accommodating and so welcoming. Also, the food and the culture, I feel at home. I love the Philippines because of the people.”
