The Philippine Basketball Association canceled Sunday’s opening of the 41st season at Smart Araneta Coliseum due to Typhoon “Lando” and moved the inaugural playdate toWednesday, at Mall of Asia Arena.
Bad weather also forced the cancellation of the UAAP basketball games at MOA Arena and the Shakey’s V-League games at Filoil Flying V Arena.
Willie Marcial, PBA media bureau chief, said a more austere kickoff rites at 5 p.m. will precede the lone match pitting Rain or Shine against Star.
