The Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. launched a coaching seminar spearheaded by the FIVB (international volleyball federation) to enrich the tactical knowledge of Filipino coaches.
LVPI president Joey Romasanta said the 15-day coaching course level 2 that began Monday is being facilitated by FIVB course director Shanwen Zhao from China and course instructor Razieh “Samira” Seifzadeh from Iran.
“This will definitely help the national program,” said Romasanta, also the first vice president of the Philippine Olympic Committee. “While volleyball is very popular here, in terms of international competitiveness we’re still way behind.”
LVPI vice president Peter Cayco said among the participants are coaches Oliver Almadro of Ateneo, Mac Gepuela of Miriam, Emilio Reyes of Army/UST, Clarence Esteban of PAF/UST, Johnson Bariso and Jojo Hugo.
