King of Sports holds P250,000 Open poker bash
A JUICY guaranteed prize of P250,000 will be at stake when King of Sports resto bar holds its first big Open poker tournament at Pacific Century Tower along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.
The elimination rounds start today and tomorrow with the finals scheduled on Saturday. Buy-ins for Day 1 and Day 2 have been pegged at P1,250 with an entry fee of P150.
Expected to lead the field, projected to exceed 100 players, are two-time KOS poker tournament winner Rommel Angeles and past winners Christopher Carabido, Willy Abiola, Michael de Leon, Robert Panlilio, Eman Segismundo, and Maxwell Philippine Rosette.
Article continues after this advertisementAngeles topped the Oct. 16, P80,000 tournament and then ruled the Oct. 19 Fish and Shark event with Hee Dien, the Fish winner.
Carabido triumphed in the Oct. 11, P50,000 tournament, Segismundo ruled the P50,000, 76-player tilt on Oct. 12 and Panlilio topped the P50,000, 50-player edition on Oct. 13.
De Leon prevailed in the P80,000, 81-player tournament on Oct. 14, Abiola reigned in the Oct. 15, P50,000 edition, while Rosette won the Oct. 17, P100,000 tournament.
Article continues after this advertisementPlayers who will reach level 12 in the eliminations advance to the finals starting at 3 p.m. at KOS, which also features billiards, e-games and MSW gaming booths plus entertainment.
King of Sports General Manager Michael Mariano said plans are afoot for even bigger tournaments, all of which are regulated by Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation.
