Ariel Usher, the most dominant import so far, scored a conference-high 36 points in Cignal’s 25-19, 24-26, 25-23, 25-17 win over RC Cola-Air Force Sunday.
Usher and Amanda Anderson fit perfectly into the system which prompted Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar to say that they seem to understand him even when he fives instructions in Filipino.
“You played volleyball for so long you understand the situation, so when coach Sammy says something Tagalog okay we get it,” said Usher, whose parents are here to throw their support.
It was the 24-year-old Usher’s first time in the country and she said the rains remind her of her home in Oregon where it rains most of the time.
For the long break, Usher said she looks forward to heading to the beach.
