It didn’t take long for Chris Newsome to announce his arrival in the PBA.
The Meralco rookie may have just delivered the dunk of the year this early in the season after dropping an in-your-face dunk on San Miguel Beer’s Arwind Santos.
Newsome took off from the right elbow outside the restricted area before meeting Santos at the rim.
There was no way Santos, who had blocked Newsome’s fastbreak layup a couple of plays earlier, was going to let the former Ateneo standout get away with an easy slam but it came at his expense.
Not only did Santos got posterized, he was also called for a foul and Newsome completed the three-point play.
The dunk was just two of Newsome’s seven points in the third quarter.
