Dennis Orcollo and Roberto Gomez hurdled separate opponents and stayed in contention in the 40th US Open 9-ball Championship Wednesday at Sheraton Westside in Virginia.
Recovering from a third round loss, Orcollo thwarted Japanese Kenichi Uchigaki, 11-7, while Gomez beat Canadian Martin Daigle, 11-8.
Also in the hunt is Francisco Felicilda, who subdued Ireland’s Karen Corr, 11-5.
Carlo Biado and Warren Kiamco saw their win-run end courtesy of Briton Jayson Shaw (7-11) and German Ralf Souquet (4-11), respectively.
Orcollo, stalwart of Bugsy Promotions, yielded to Chinese Dang Jin-hu, 8-11, while Gomez bowed to three-time US Open defending champion Shane Van Boening (9-11) of the United States.
