Seventeen-year-old Isabel Molde is shaping up to be University of the Philippines’ go-to girl.

The Physical Education student was back-to-back best player of the game after leading the Lady Maroons to victory over the weekend in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Reinforced Conference.

Already, she is being touted to become the league’s next marquee player just like Alyssa Valdez.

But the 5-foot-6 1/2 Cebuana, who scored 17 points against the Navy Lady Sailors and 15 against the Coast Guard Dolphins, said she’s still not used to the spotlight despite her on-court exploits.

“I don’t feel nervous whenever I play, but I do whenever I’m interviewed on TV,” said Molde.

“No one as young as this girl from Cebu has ever debuted in our tournament with such a strong impact,” said Ricky Palou, president of the organizing Sports Vision.

Molde, born to elementary school principals and a graduate at Hope Christian High School, has three POG honors and has an MVP-worthy average of 18 points per game. Marc Reyes
