Castro rallies to rule Northern Luzon golf

TARLAC—Luis Castro rallied with a one-over-par 73 in the final round as overnight leader Ira Alido fumbled with bogeys in the closing holes to complete a come-from-behind victory in the 2015 Northern Luzon Regional Golf Championship at Luisita Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

Two down after the second round, Castro played with caution against Luisita’s tough and hazardous layout, signing for an even 36 at the turn. He managed to round up the final nine with a 1-over 37, despite a bogey on the 17th, for a 224 total in the men’s elite open division.

Harmie Constantino (72-220) captured the plum in the women’s elite open.
