Batang Gilas stays unbeaten in Fiba U16, thwarts Iraq

The Philippines continued its winning ways after beating Iraq, 78-69, in the second round of the Fiba Asia Under-16 Championship at Britama Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Gian Mamuyac led Batang Gilas in scoring with 16 points on top of five steals while SJ Belangel added 10 points and six assists.

The young Filipinos picked up their third win in as many games after whipping Thailand Saturday and Bahrain last Thursday.

Abdullah Abdullah was a one-man crew for the Iraqis with 26 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort.
