Though Lyceum is losing a key figure for next year’s campaign, Lyceum coach Topex Robinson could not help but be proud of Jean Victor Nguidjol, who was drafted in the 2015 NBA D-League Draft.

The 6-foot-9 Cameroonian was tabbed by the Austin Toros as the 16th pick of the developmental draft last Sunday.

“We are really planning to make him our main guy. But it’s an opportunity that even I can’t resist if I was given a chance. We are proud of what he has accomplished,” Robinson told INQUIRER.net.

Nguidjol averaged 11.06 points, 8.65 rebounds, and 1.65 blocks for the Pirates in what would eventually be his final season in the NCAA.

In a statement, the Lyceum University also beamed with pride over Nguidjol’s feat.

“This is a testimony to the efficacy of the LPU basketball and varsity sports program, and the high quality of NCAA games that hone the players’ competitiveness to global standards.”
