Ateneo coach Bo Perasol said that Cameroonian big man Chibueze Ikeh has returned to the Katipunan campus and will certainly suit up for the Blue Eagles in their next game against La Salle.

“Yes, he is in the school campus already. He will definitely play for us this Sunday,” he said.

According to reports, Ikeh is out on bail after his arrest Wednesday night.

Ikeh was taken into police custody right after the Blue Eagles’ game against UP at Smart Araneta Coliseum over a complaint for violation of R.A. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), according to INQUIRER.net sources.

Perasol labeled the issue with Ikeh as a “temporary distraction for the team.”

“We intend to use this adversity as another rallying point in our campaign this season,” said Perasol.

This was the second time this season that Ateneo has had an issue with its players, first with sparingly-used John Apacible, who was caught drunk driving in video that went viral two weeks ago.

Ateneo goes up against La Salle on Sunday as it continues to strengthen its hold of the third spot in the UAAP Season 78 Final Four race.
