Hobe notches second Marikina caging victory

Two-time champion Hobe notched its second win in as many games after downing Metro Pacific Toll Corporation, 82-72, Thursday in the 5th DELeague basketball tournament at Marikina Sports Center.

Rodrigue Ebundo scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds while former PBA Barako Bull point guard Bonbon Custodio added 17 points, five rebounds and four assists to pace Hobe.

“At first, they were overwhelmed. They could not score and they hurried things up,” said Hobe coach Braulio Lim, a former University of the East and National team player.

The Warriors, who got 22 points and seven rebounds from Ernest Reyes, fell to 1-1.

Power Innovation dumped Philippine National Police-Quick Print, 89-74, to tie MPTC.

Ronald Roy led the Power Innovators with 16 points while Kazim Mirza chipped in 14 points.

The PNP-Quick Print Enforcers are winless in two starts.
