Power Innovation overcame Philippine Christian University, 70-67, Sunday in the 5th DELeague basketball tournament at Marikina Sports Center.
Ronald Roy stepped up for the Power Innovators, sinking three free throws that broke a 67-all count and gave them a 2-1 card, the same record of their victim.
Roy topscored for Innovators with 19 points on top of 11 rebounds and six assists while JR Ng Sang chipped in 16 points and four boards.
The PCU Dolphins got 26 points, six rebounds and four assists from Von Tambeling while Mike Ayonayon added 20 points.
In the other game, Austen Morris Association barged into the win column after three tries with an 86-71 whipping Philippine National Police-Quick Print.
Jon Lasa finished with 22 points and 6 rebounds and RJ Deles contributed 15 points for Austen Morris, which improved to 1-2.
Former pro Estong Ballesteros had 18 points and eight rebounds for PNP which remained winless in three starts.
Gio Vergara and Ton Tolentino also had 12 points apiece for the losing squad.
On Nov. 17, Fly Dragon Logistics will face Metro Pacific Toll Corporation at 7 p.m., followed by the Mindanao Aguilas-Our Lady of Fatima University clash at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost P10.
